Check Up & Clean – Preventative Dentistry
Keep your pearly whites shining with our check up and clean preventative dentistry!
The Starbright Dental team live the ethos of preventative dentistry – we are in the business of caring for your teeth to keep them healthy and thus avoid gum disease, cavities, enamel wear and much more. To maintain the very best in oral health, it is recommended that you visit the dentist at least twice a year.
These check-ups are necessary to ensure your teeth are in their best possible state. During this consultation, our dentist will complete a comprehensive oral examination of your teeth and gums. After conducting a short oral cancer check, your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned to remove all plaque build-up and stains. For our final touch of dental magic, a slather of fluoride is applied to guarantee teeth remineralisation to safeguard your teeth against future plaque build-up. In some cases, you may need x-rays to confirm that your teeth are in top condition.
As a parting gift, we provide you with a take-home oral hygiene kit which includes a new:
- Tooth Brush;
- Floss; and
- Tooth Paste.
PAIN-FREE teeth cleaning with the new EMS AIR-FLOW® machine
Starbright Dental now uses the revolutionary EMS-AIRFLOW® machine for all teeth cleaning appointments.
The EMS AIR-FLOW® technology produces a controlled stream of air, water, and microscopic particles, which is directed at the teeth and gums. The device uses a powerful and precise jet stream to clean teeth and remove stains without causing any damage to the teeth or gums.
The EMS AIR-FLOW system is highly effective in removing surface stains caused by coffee, tea, and other foods and drinks, as well as plaque and tartar build-up. It is also an efficient tool for cleaning and polishing dental restorations like crowns and bridges. It is also great for patients who have braces or other dental correction devices in place.
Traditional teeth cleaning methods can sometimes cause discomfort or sensitivity, especially if the teeth are already sensitive or if there is a significant amount of plaque or tartar build-up. In contrast, the AIR-FLOW system is less invasive and can be more gentle on the teeth and gums.
That being said, it’s important to note that everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and some patients may still experience some discomfort during or after the AIR-FLOW procedure.
It’s also worth noting that the AIR-FLOW machine may not be suitable for all patients, especially those with certain dental conditions or medical concerns. Your dentist or dental hygienist will assess your individual needs and recommend the best teeth cleaning method for you.
