Dr. Yuryj Kostirko grew up in Toronto, Canada. After moving to the nation’s capital, he attended The University of Ottawa where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling and Spirituality. While completed his studies Yuryj worked as a naval reservist as well as an emergency medical responder on the Rideau Canal Skateway which happens to be the world’s largest outdoor skating rink. After completing his studies, Yuryj worked closely with vulnerable children and families which has equipped him with a keen understanding and awareness for the needs of others.
While in Canada Yuryj lived by both oceans and the Rocky Mountains. With a passion for the outdoors, Australia was a natural fit. In 2020, Yuryj decided to combine his desire to work with people with his passion for working with his hands by pursuing a career in dentistry. Yuryj completed his Bachelor of Dental Health Science and Master of Dentistry at Griffith University.
While studying at Griffith, Yuryj founded Food First-a charitable food and clothing donation program to support those less fortunate living on the Gold Coast. A gifted communicator, Yuryj projects a calm and gentle relationship with his patients. He prides himself on his ability to empathise with others and is always open to questions.
Aside from work, he enjoy’s an athletic lifestyle. While an avid runner, he just as much enjoys working out at the gym, playing tennis or going for a hike.
While passionate about all things dentistry, Yuryj has a particular interest in oral surgery and prosthodontics (crowns and bridges). Above all else, Yuryj strives to make his patients comfortable and provide them with the best possible care.
