What clear teeth aligners?
Clear teeth aligners are a transparent and removable orthodontic treatment.
Not only is this a virtually invisible form of orthodontic treatment, clear teeth aligners can be removed for meals, cleaning and also important photos.
Unlike traditional braces, these clear aligners do not include metal wires, brackets and rubber bands which prevent you from eating certain foods. Because of this, you are not faced with any dietary restrictions. Therefore, you can follow your regular oral hygiene routine as well as eat and drink whatever you wish.
However, with the ability to remove your aligners, this means that you will need to be completely committed to the treatment to ensure its success.
You should keep your aligners in for the recommended 22 hours per day, as removing for longer can cause an increased treatment time.
What are the benefits?
Clear teeth aligners are appealing for all patients looking to improve the alignment of their teeth.
- Virtually invisible
- Removable aligners
- No dietary restrictions
What is the treatment process?
During your initial consultation we will determine whether clear teeth aligners can be used to correct your alignment concerns.
We will create a custom treatment plan for you based on digital impressions taken of your bite and smile. These scans will be used to list how many aligners are required and how long your treatment is expected to take. The scans will be able to show you every movement involved.
These digital scans will be sent off to the dental laboratory, so that the manufacturing of your custom aligners can start.
Once we receive your aligners back at Starbright Dental, you will come in to receive them, and we will ensure that they fit.
During your treatment, you will be required to come back in every so often to mark your progress and receive a set of sequential aligners.
How long does the treatment take?
The clear aligners treatment time at Starbright Dental will vary among each individual as it will be dependent upon the severity of the misalignment.
You must also wear your aligners for at least 22 hours a day.
Who would benefit from clear teeth aligners?
Anyone looking for a straighter smile may benefit from it.
During your consultation we will clinically assess your teeth and facial profile and determine if the treatment will be ideal for you.
For many patients, metal braces are not a realistic or suitable solution, which is why we see many patients seeking clear aligner treatment. For patients who feel self-conscious about their teeth and metal braces, this is the ideal way to move your teeth into alignment without anyone noticing.
It is important to know that clear teeth aligners may not be the right treatment for everybody, and sometimes conventional braces may be the only recommended option.
